Originating from the granite bedrock in the headwaters, the presence of bogs and wetlands in the vicinity naturally imparts acidity to the surroundings. This unique condition facilitates the leaching of iron and other minerals from the soil, resulting in the water of these falls acquiring a delightful caramel hue.
Despite residing in New Brunswick for nearly 15 years, I had never taken the opportunity to explore this hidden gem until my recent camping trip to New River Beach. Discovering this little piece of paradise has brought me immense joy and a newfound appreciation for the natural wonders that abound in this region.
